If you are using pocket joinery these are the best screws for the job. I actually use Kreg washer head screws for everything cause they are so good, dont strip, break and are self drilling.
They work just like a normal pocket screw, by self tapping and nice holding power. Time will tell if they will hold up to the weather, but I expect they will done fine. Another nice product from Kreg. I used these screws to build my raised garden beds.
